Vintage 1973 American NYC Modernist Arthur King Sterling Silver Oyster Geode with Baroque Pearl Necklace Choker. Hand signed "King '73."
The design features a large amount of sterling silver with a real oyster shell geode and baroque pearl caged in sterling silver.
There is no doubt this is a one-of-a-kind piece handmade by Arthur King for a select client. This was not a work that would have been recast and reproduced. There is an extender on the necklace which allows it to fit any size neck up to 17".
Arthur King was a master silversmith of the Modernist Movement. This necklace is a typical example of his style, lost wax casting. He often caged rough cut stones in a brutalist organic nature. His work is exhibited in many museums around the world. Handwrought silver works are much more rare. Offers considered.
