This is of unknown date or place of origin, but the leather is hand-tooled, and you can tell it is old. There is a leather "hinge" which allows the top to open and close. On each end of the leather top hinge is a rip in the leather. It will need some restoration along the hinge. Other than that it is a really cool piece. Pictures tell the story. If you are going to buy it and then complain about the ripped hinge, please don't bother buying it. If you know it's place of origin and approximate age, let me know!
